CARD SCAN LAB

How the Pokémon card scanner works

From photo to card candidate

Card Scan Lab sends your photo to pokemontcgapi.com Vision and receives ranked candidates. The first candidate and its available reference price appear automatically. A candidate can be wrong, especially when different printings share the same artwork.

Check the card, language and printing

Compare the name, set, printed number, language and printing with your card. Choose another candidate or search by set and number if needed. The price updates automatically. Website language and card language are separate settings.

Where the reference price comes from

Prices are retrieved from the RareBit catalog and displayed in EUR in every website language. An available price includes its market source, observation date, card language and reference condition. It is not an offer to buy or a guaranteed selling price. Your copy’s wear, condition and exact printing can affect a sale.

Why a price may be missing

Recognition and price coverage vary by set, language and printing. A card can be identified without a relevant quote. Missing data is not a value of zero. A service error is shown separately. Try another candidate, a clearer photo or the manual set-and-number search.

Five guest results, then free email sign-in

Your first five results with a price do not require an account. Continue free with an email one-time code, without a password or marketing subscription. Within the same scan, repeating the same selection does not use another result; choosing a different card, language or printing with a price can count as another. Errors and selections without a price do not use the five results. Technical rate limits still apply. If sign-in is temporarily unavailable, the site says so and your last result remains readable.

What the photo cannot tell you

This tool does not authenticate cards, assign a professional grade or assess the condition of the photographed copy. A reference price cannot establish what a buyer will pay.

What happens to your photo

Your photo leaves the browser for recognition. Card Scan Lab and Vision process it transiently, without keeping it as a stored upload. RareBit receives card identifiers for catalog and price lookup, not your photo. Avoid faces or personal documents. The privacy notice explains image processing, browser identifiers, email delivery and retention.
